Please Approve

Please Approve is a bureaucratic puzzle game inspired by the likes of Papers, Please.

Due to stellar-wide budget cuts, all council approvals, in every planetary region,  have been outsourced remotely to the species with the lowest minimum wage - You!

Follow the rules set out for you in your trusty guidebook - some rules more alien than others - and stamp documents before sending them back for review.

Right now, the only applicant is Gizmodeus R. Goodboy from Saturnwood; but in your job at the Council you will meet many strange and colourful characters.

Each document provided to you should be inspected and marked with the correct stamps - before being sent back to the applicant

Controls: 

Move objects around with left click. 

Right click with a stamp held to stamp any paper object.

When you think you are correct, drag and drop documents to the tube in the top left.

Please Approve is a submission for our first GMTK Game Jam! We are a two person beginner team, one programmer, one artist, who have hopes of making Please Approve into a full puzzle game with elements of mathematics, deduction, and observation. 

We know there's lots of bugs. Unfortunately, bug fixing was not approved.  

If you would like to try the game, here are some tips to avoid the bugs: 

•  The stamp sometimes gets confused. Try not to have it over two objects, and if it won't stamp, completely take it off any objects and bring it to the thing you want to stamp.
•  Left click doesn't differentiate what item is in front (I later learned that the method I was using was completely random, so try again, whoopsie!)

While we did not have enough time to realise our vision, we learned a lot about what goes into making a game (such as saving back ups in case a disk drive were to perhaps fail), and how tricky making a functional puzzle is. We will continue to work on Please Approve.
